Summer is finally here! The sun is out, the temperature has rocketed, and it makes you want to just sit by a pool and relax…..but what about your skin? Summer places a great deal of strain on your skin and its natural barrier function. Exposure to the sun and exposure to more UV rays than at other times of the year leads to skin dehydration and fatigue. Heavy, thick creams that work in the winter will overload the skin in the summer months - so how can we Moisturise, Protect and Support our skin during the summer?

Our UV Protection Products

First and foremost, make sure you use sunscreen or a UV Moisturiser during the day. Make sure whatever you use protects you from UVA and UVB rays (see our previous blog for why this is important), and make sure you keep reapplying it through the day as needed. Sunburn can sneak up on you, especially on a breezy day, so why not try using our UV Moisturiser? Easy to apply in the morning, and top up during the day if needed. With our Original Moisturiser at its base, it’s just as hydrating and fast-absorbing as always, but it protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays and will give you that extra summer-skin protection.

Our Summer Moisturise Products

Our Original Moisturiser has been developed to moisturise the skin 365 days of the year. Face, body and hands, it can be used wherever you need hydration support. But what about when you feel your skin needs something extra during the summer? That’s where our Seasonals Line comes in. Developed under the 7 Skin Seasons concept, our Original Moisturiser has been blended with targeted ingredients to support your skin and soul during certain skin seasons. Blended with super-hydrating Sugar Squalane, skin-softening Citrus Sudachi Peel Extract and a burst of Japanese citrus, our Japanese Citrus Moisturiser hydrates the skin and strengthens the skin's moisture barrier as the temperature and sun exposure increases. On the 1st of August, we will launch our NEW Seasonals Line Moisturiser, perfect for Summer to early Autumn skin support.

Our Support Products

Our Cleansing Balm is the perfect cleanser to gently wash away the day and prepare your skin for its evening hydration care. Blended with Sugar Squalane and Almond Oil, it gently cleanses your skin, removing make-up and impurities, leaving your skin feeling plump, but not sticky.

Our Heat Protection Products

What about the heat? Lovely when you’re on holiday, not so fun when you’re working. We have launched three new products this year to help you combat the summer heat. Japanese summers are long and harsh…..so these have been designed with the hottest and most humid climates in mind.

Our Skin Gelée has been designed specifically for the face, neck and scalp, and is like a shot of water for the skin. It’s a water-based semi-solid jelly that leaves the skin feeling utterly hydrated, yet matte. It is fabulously flexible when it comes to how to use it - from moisturiser to after-shave face care, serum to scalp care, this mighty little gelée can do it all. Blended with aloe vera and acerola to moisturise, soothe and cool the skin, it is fragranced with the refreshing scent of lemon and a hint of Japanese Hakka mint. Pop it in the fridge for an extra cooling and soothing effect.

Our Ice Mint Body Mist and Ice Mint Body Gel have been developed specifically to help you cool and refresh the body. The revitalising scent of mint is expertly blended with refreshing citrus to create a fresh and invigorating fragrance. Helping to reduce the sticky feeling of perspiration on the skin, and alleviate worries about odor on hot and humid days, they can be chilled in the fridge before use to intensify their cooling effect. The Gel can even be put in the freezer for a supersonic wake-up call!

However you spend your summer, make sure you protect and pamper your skin. Enjoy!
